Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily feeding, watering and care of dairy cows and livestock
- Milking operations including automated milking systems monitoring
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in barns and pastures
- Recording animal health data and assisting with veterinary checks
- Operating modern farm machinery and agricultural equipment
- Supporting farm managers with herd management decisions
- Assisting with calving and reproductive management
- Environmental and sustainability practice implementation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary, or related field
- Minimum 2nd year of study or 6 months post-graduation
- Valid passport with at least 18 months remaining validity
- Basic English communication skills (German is an advantage)
- Physical fitness โ farm work involves outdoor and manual labour
- Genuine passion for livestock and agricultural development
- Clean background/character reference from institution
- Medical fitness certificate

Accommodation
Most host farms in Germany provide on-site accommodation in modern intern quarters. Housing is either fully included in your programme or provided at a heavily subsidised rate (โฌ50โโฌ100/month). You'll have access to kitchen facilities, internet, and basic utilities. AJAR coordinates all accommodation arrangements before your arrival so you're never left to figure it out alone.
Visa Assistance
Non-EU nationals require a German internship visa or work visa depending on nationality and duration. AJAR Recruitment provides full documentation assistance including sponsorship letters from host farms, visa application preparation, appointment scheduling at the German embassy in your home country, and pre-departure briefings. Processing times typically range from 4โ10 weeks.
