Duties & Responsibilities
- Care and daily management of dairy herds (feeding, milking, monitoring)
- Operating robotic and automated milking systems
- Monitoring animal health, growth rates and welfare standards
- Assisting veterinarians with health checks and treatments
- Data recording using farm management software systems
- Manure and waste management in line with environmental regulations
- Supporting breeding and reproduction programmes
- Participating in farm sustainability and welfare audits
Requirements
- Student or recent graduate in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary or related fields
- Minimum completion of 2nd year of a relevant degree programme
- Valid passport with 18+ months validity
- English proficiency (Danish language is a bonus but not required)
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions outdoors
- Strong work ethic and team spirit
- Commitment to animal welfare and sustainability values
- Reference letter from current or most recent educational institution

Accommodation
Danish host farms typically provide on-farm housing that is clean, modern, and well-equipped. Accommodation is either fully covered or available at a minimal cost (โฌ50โโฌ150/month). Most intern quarters have private or semi-private rooms, kitchen access, Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities. AJAR confirms all housing arrangements before your departure.
Visa Assistance
Non-EU/EEA nationals require a Danish work or internship permit. Denmark operates a Green Card and specific agricultural trainee schemes that AJAR navigates on your behalf.
